Platform Agreement

Play Locals is a friendly community of local players. We want everyone to feel comfortable finding a game here, so we ask that all members treat each other with the same respect they'd expect on court.

Be a good sport

People who join Play Locals are just here for the game, and that's exactly how it should be. We simply ask that you're friendly, genuine, and considerate in how you interact with other players. Keep your messages and profile appropriate, and if someone isn't available or isn't interested in a game, that's fine - just move on.

Keep your profile honest

Your profile is your introduction to other players. A real photo, an honest playing level, your real age and a bio that gives people a sense of who you are and what you're looking for. We ask that everything you share is genuine, appropriate, and something you'd be happy for anyone in the community to see.

Profiles and bios must not contain profanity, harassment, or other offensive language, nor links, social media handles, phone numbers or other contact details, or promotional/spam content of any kind. Profiles that don't meet this may be edited, hidden, or removed, and repeated or serious breaches may lead to a suspended account.

Content you share

Your profile photo, bio, and any messages you send are yours - but by adding them to Play Locals, you're giving us permission to show them to other players as part of how the platform works (for example, displaying your photo and bio to people browsing in your area, or your messages to whoever you're chatting with). We only use your content to run the platform - never to sell it on or use it anywhere else.

Use it for what it's for

Play Locals is here to help you find someone to play with. We ask that you use it for that purpose: arranging racket sports sessions with other local players. Contact details exchanged through the platform are primarily there to help you get a game sorted.

Playing safely

Sport carries a natural risk of injury, and meeting new people always warrants a bit of common sense. We encourage you to play within your ability, warm up properly, and take responsibility for your own physical wellbeing on court - Play Locals connects players but isn't responsible for what happens during a session.

When meeting someone for the first time, treat it like any new social introduction: let someone know where you're going, meet in a public place, and trust your instincts. We vet accounts and take reports seriously, but we can't guarantee the behaviour of every member, so please exercise your own judgement when arranging and attending sessions.

Looking after the community

We want Play Locals to stay a place people genuinely enjoy using. If something doesn't feel right (whether that's a message, a profile, or someone's behaviour) you can always get in touch with us and we'll look into it. We'll handle any reports discreetly.

Your privacy

Your mobile number is only ever shared when both players have agreed to play. Players who decline your request, or whose request you decline, will never see your contact details. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts or remove content that is not inline with this Platform Agreement. Get in touch if you have any questions.
